Overview
Summer: 1993. The venue: a small cafe on the lower east side of Manhattan
know as Sin-e. Over the course of several months intimate but enthusiastic
audiences gathered to listen to a young performer exploring and expressing
his heartfelt artistry through a mesmerizing voice and mind-boggling
guitar.
With the subsequent release of his Live At Sin-e EP, many would experience
what more and more New Yorkers had already known---that Jeff Buckley was
going to make a difference.
Live At Sin-e (Legacy Edition) features early versions of material that
would later appear on Jeff Buckley's monumental full length debut , Grace.
In addition to his own material, Jeff also performs numerous songs from the
artists that influenced him most (including Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Led
Zeppelin and Leonard Cohen). This collection of early solo performances
recorded during two nights in July and August captures the full experience
of a Jeff Buckley show. Sin-e was a venue that Jeff had always felt
particularly comfortable in and as a result he was there at his
spontaneous, humorous, poetic, creative best. This spectacular live
collection spans two CD's and over 2 hours of music and spoken word. In
addition, a bonus DVD featuring rare unseen live performances and an
intimate interview with Jeff showcases the passion and depth that Jeff
always put into his music. Live At Sin-e (Legacy Edition) also includes a
deluxe 24 page full color booklet with rare photos and 3 insightful essays
providing fans with a fantastic vision of Jeff and one his favorite
performing venues, the Sin-e.
